UCSO deputies arrested 23-year-old Jalen Black this morning on the campus of Cuthbertson High School after a road rage incident that began on Cuthbertson Road. During the road rage incident, the suspect brandished a firearm at another motorist and then turned into the school campus to drop off a sibling. UCSO school resource officers were already at the schools when the incident occurred and quickly took the suspect into custody and seized his firearm. Black was transported to the Union County Jail and charged with one count of Felony Possession of a Weapon on School Property and received a secured bond of $20,000. Jalen Black is no longer in the custody of the Union County Jail. None of the students or teachers on the school’s campuses were threatened or injured during this incident.

Sheriff Eddie Cathey adds “Our school resource officers were on campus and responded without hesitation when notified of this incident. Thankfully, none of our children or our educational staff members were threatened or harmed. Road rage incidents like this are dangerous and have the potential to escalate quickly.
