The Courts and Jail Bureau is supervised by Captain Chad Coppedge. The bureau is divided into smaller specialized units.

Judicial Services Bureau

This bureau provides security during local judicial proceedings and acts as a resource for judges and other staff who work at the Judicial Center or as jurors or witnesses. In addition, this bureau transports those on trial, provides security for the Court Intake Center and oversees the pre-trial release program.

What is involved in processing a new inmate?

During intake, inmates at the county jail receive medical and mental health screenings, complete fingerprint submissions and file background checks. They are assigned their area of residence in the jail based on a classification process.

How can I contact or support a current inmate?

Inmates can be contacted during visitation time, by telephone, or mail. View Contact/Support an Inmate for more details.
